Key Stage 3 Curriculum Content

Key Stage 3 Exploring Maths Scheme

The scheme is tiered to consolidate prior learning and extend students through Year 7 and Year 8 in preparation for studies at GCSE.  The core elements of the scheme are:

• Number

• Algebra

• Ratio, proportion and rates of change

• Geometry and measures

•  Probability

•  Statistics.

GCSE studies commence in Year 9.

Key Stage 4 Curriculum Content

GCSE studies commence in Year 9.  Students are expected to apply their mathematical understanding in unfamiliar contexts as well as be secure in their mathematical processing.

Units include:

• Number

• Algebra

• Ratio, proportion and rates of change

• Geometry and measures

•  Probability

•  Statistics.
