  • Train to Teach with the TSAT SCITT

    Published 01/12/23

We are delighted to have launched, in partnership with Teach First, the TSAT School Centered Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme.

Our one-year programme involves a powerful mix of self-directed, live training and one-to-one support, with trainees gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) upon completion.

We hope that the programme will inspire the next generation of teachers for both TSAT and the wider sector.

We have 15 places for a September 2024 start, in both primary and secondary phases, with a range of subjects on offer. We are really interested in local people who want to make a difference in our TSAT schools and communities: non-teaching staff in schools who are considering moving into teaching, school alumni wanting to 'give back', recent graduates looking to take their next steps, career changes seeking a new challenge - all these potential professionals, and more, are welcome to apply.

If you are interested in training to teach with us then please visit our SCITT webpage to find out more, or contact us directly at tsatscitt@taptontrust.org.uk

  • Adverse Weather Information

    Published 01/12/23

It is always the school’s aim to remain open except in the most extreme circumstances when we are forced to close because there is a risk to the health and safety of pupils, staff and visitors.

    Information for parents

Parent/Carers will be informed of school closure in the following ways:

    • A message will be posted on the school website/Social Media as soon as a decision is made
    • A text message will be sent to all parent/carers (please ensure we have your up to date mobile phone number)
    • There will be an announcement sent to BBC Radio Sheffield
    • We shall update our Twitter and Facebook feeds

Closure will be avoided wherever possible. Please do not contact the school in bad weather to check whether school is open. Unless announced as above, we will be open.

Parent/Carers should be aware that in extreme weather conditions significant staff or pupil absences may result in emergency timetabling being put into effect.

Should weather conditions deteriorate during the school day and a decision to close school is taken, parent/carers will be informed by text and pupils with permission will be sent home with a letter of explanation.
